Melanie began her study of dance at the age of 2 at Benson’s Academy of Dance in Ocala, FL. As a young dancer, she was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern & lyrical. By age 10 she began intense ballet/pointe training under the instruction of Nicole Benson. In 2004, at age 7, she was accepted as a member of the Marion Ballet Theatre Company. As a performing artist from 2004-2013, she danced in productions such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Princess Style, Peter and the Wolf, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Swan Lake, & the Nutcracker. She was a part of the corps de baller along with solo & demi-solo performances
